German newspaper Welt am Sonntag reported this weekend that BMW is tinkering with the idea of acquiring Swiss F1 team Sauber. The Munich manufacturer has been linked to Peter Sauber’s outfit for a few weeks, but it was originally believed that BMW only intended to provide customer engines for the Hinwil-based squad.
