De fabrikant bepaalt voor welke klasse een wagen gehomologeerd dient te worden, niet de FIA. Omdat BMW dergelijke wagens nooit heeft aangeboden voor een of andere GT homologatie zullen ze die homologatie ook niet krijgen.
