Van de huidige lichting NL Formule coureurs is Doornbos wellicht de traagste qua intrensieke snelheid. Echter natuurlijke snelheid is nog maar een van de factoren om het ver te schoppen. Er komt meer bij kijken dan alleen wat aan een stuurtje duwen. Die kerel doet het goed voor de camera, er komt nog wat zinnigs uit. Prestatie is des te knapper als je bedenkt dat ie op zeer late leeftijd aan autosport is begonnen. Dacht pas in '98 of '99..........je hoeft dus niet te wanhopen als je op 14de nog niet achter het stuur van een formulewagen
