Is een Aston Martin geschikt voor rally? Volgens Prodrive wel
In de eerste wedstrijd van het Frans rally kampioenschap 2006 zien we een wel heel aparte wagen terug. Welke? Een Aston Martin V8 Vantage, gekieteld dor
 Prodrive.Volgens een berichtje in de autosport van afgelopen week hebben Frederic Dor (de beurs achter de 550 en de DBR9) en Prodrive het idee opgevat om een AM V8 Vantage om te bouwen naar rally-spec. De coureur die mag gaan "powersliden" met de AM is Stephane Sarrazin. De naam van de rally is Lyon-Charbonnières, is er een rallykenner in het huis die weet waar we de foto's kunnen vinden? De ideale piloot hebben ze daarvoor met z'n Aston -en Rallyervaring. Het is wel wennen om een Vantage rally te zien rijden... (Vorige week stond er trouwens nog eentje te pronken in Francorchamps, echt een prachtexemplaar
 ).

De Vantage zal zijn mannetje wel staan op asfalt. Het valt wel nog te bezien hoe hij zich zal gedragen op onverhard, wat toch een belangrijk deel uitmaakt van het Frans kampioenschap (dacht ik).

Zijn ze bij Prodrive trouwens niet van plan om de Vantage ergens voor circuit in te zetten? LMS of zo...zou ik wel zien zitten.
Of blijft het voorlopig nog enkel bij de DBR9?

Volgende race van deze AM zou de rally van Limousin zijn in juni. Tijdens de afgelopen rally zou men alleen wat probleempjes hebben gehad met de remmen. E.e.a volgens het onderschrift van een spectaculaire foto in de Autosport.
