Recentelijk verschenen er in de Australische vakpers tekeningen van de WTCC Chevrolet Cruze en de Ford Focus als opvolger van de huidige V8 Supercars. Het is natuurlijk niet eenvoudig om in het motorcompartiment van deze modellen een V8 motor te plaatsen. Op dit moment is de huidige Holden V8 de meest verkochte straatauto in Australié. Sportchef Simon McNamara echter heeft wel er oren naar om een kleinschaliger model in te zetten. “Als de markt in drie of vier jaar verandert, heeft het natuurlijk zin om een dergelijk model in te zetten” aldus de Holden Sport baas.
