In 2007 een aantal gezamelijke weekends, IRL op zaterdag en de Champs op zondag bijvoorbeeld. En dan vanaf 2008 wellicht een gezamelijke klasse waarbij de nieuwe Swift-wagen van 2007 als basis kan worden gebruikt.

Ahzo maar dat deel over feelnemen aan de indy 500 is dus maar bladvulling. Dat kon toch altijd al.

FF wat opgezocht Champcar teams mochten deelnemen aan de Indy 500. Maar IRL teams hadden de voorrang. In praktijk kwam het er geloof ik op neer dat er slechts 5 plaatsen beschikbaar waren voor Champcar teams.

Wat dus nooit uitmaakte want hoelang is het niet geleden dat ze een vol startveld hadden

Door het jaar is niet druk bij de IRL Althans niet drukker dan bij de broeders van de Champcar. Echter, Indy + 500............dan komen altijd 12/13 gasten uit de lucht vallen die alleen aanwezig zijn bij de Indy 500. Wat te denken van Ryan Briscoe, die werd een paar uur voor de laatste training (bump day) gebeld om toch ff een wagen op de grid te zetten. Op dat moment stond ie af te rekenen aan de kassa van de lokale supermarket George heeft altijd wel zijn best gedaan om de Champs buiten de deur te houden.

Waarom zou Champ car nog willen fuseren. Champcar is on the up (extra team met pacific coast motrosports, nieuw chassis, franchitti terug, vele rijders die willen terugkeren. IRL is aan het sterven ( Foyt die franchitti vervangt ,andere rijders die het schip willen verlaten, geen publiek, ...)

volgens kalkhoven in de laatste Autosport is de fusie "completely dead".
