Zal eens opzoeken van welke russische oliegigant hij de big man is. Was eerder ook al genoemd in het arrows-verhaal.

Volgens Autosport.com zal dit weekend het nieuwe team (met Dallara chassis) zich bekend maken.

Het kind heeft een naam: Midland F1. De eerste deelname is gepland voor 2006 en dus nog niet voor volgend jaar.

Meer info op pitstop.tv: F1 - Midland Group komt in 2006 met team

Trevor is ook bekend van z'n World Series team Vandaar dat ik ook weet wie deze persoon juist is, en wat voor een persoon hij juist is, en het is niet deminste!

Samen met een chef ingenieur van Pons worden zij bijden aanzien als DE technische mensen in de WS paddock...
Het is dus totaal geen prutser, maar een zeer begaafde mens. Die erg gepasioneerd bezig is met z'n vak.

Midland F1 debuteert in 2006

Er komt in 2006 een nieuw Formule 1-team onder de naam Midland F1. Dallara gaat de auto’s bouwen en het team krijgt een Russisch tintje.

Midland is een investeerdersgroep die zijn basis in Canada heeft, maar vooral opereert in Rusland en de Baltische staten. Op vrijdag voor de Grand Prix van Japan maakte Midland zijn Formule 1 plannen bekend. Oprichter en voorzitter Alexander Shnaider gaf tekst en uitleg.

“Midland is marktgericht en daarom beginnen wij een compleet nieuw team, in plaats van een bestaand team op te kopen. Het team zal Russisch georiënteerd zijn en we hopen dan ook met een Russische coureur aan de start te komen.”
Volgens Shnaider is Midland zelfvoorzienend en zal het moederbedrijf garant staan voor een jaarlijks budget van circa 100 miljoen dollar, maar denkt hij via geldschieters dit bedrag flink te kunnen opschroeven.

Inmiddels is het kersverse team druk bezig personeel te werven. Shnaider: “we zijn met ons huiswerk bezig: de juiste mensen verzamelen, een goede auto krijgen. Pas daarna kunnen we gaan denken aan winnen. Want ik kan je verzekeren dat we uiteindelijk willen winnen.”

Behalve Midland/Carlin zouden we er nog eentje mogen verwachten namelijk Team Dubai..........de borgsom van 48 miljoen dollar is gestort. Die krijgen ze overigens over een periode van twee jaar maandelijks weer terug............

Dus Jordan heeft zijn kruit verschoten, benieuwd hoe lang Jordan nog zal bestaan.

Zo'n Formule 1 team opstarten is dus eigenlijk poepsimpel

Team Dubai gaat naar alle waarschijnlijkheid een alliantie aan met McLaren, voor 100 miljoen USDollar (op jaarbasis) gaan ze "partner" worden met McLaren.

Ron Dennis had nog een leeg pandje liggen in Woking, dan nog een kleine vergoeding voor de motoren, ondersteuning van McLaren en nog wat voor de intellectuele eigendommen, best simpel op een team op te zetten

Het is inderdaad heel simpel om een team op te zetten, als geld geen rol speelt. Maar een team vlotjes opzetten betekent nog niet dat het een topper gaat worden.
Verder zou de overeenkomst met McLaren-Mercedes exclusief zijn, geen enkel ander (toekomstig) team zou motoren krijgen van McLaren-Mercedes.

Wel een nieuw team voor 2006 en toch weer niet. Op autosport.com staat te lezen dat Midland het team van Jordan gaat overnemen. Onder het motto, wel de lusten niet de lasten

Vanaf 2006 geen Jordan meer maar wel Midland die de "rechten" overneemt van Eddie. Voordeel is dat ze geen 50 miljoen Euro als borg hoeven neer te tellen voor een startplek. Ander leuk voordeel is dat meteen kunnen graaien uit de pot van de TV-rechten en evt. reiskosten...........

Eigenlijk hetzelfde truukje als Red Bull Racing
